Virtual machine

An isolated software computer running on a physical host through a hypervisor.

A virtual machine is a software-defined computer that runs an operating system on top of a physical host through a hypervisor. It can separate applications, operating systems, and network configurations, while still exposing virtualization-specific characteristics. For multi-account operations, VMs provide environment isolation but require attention to hardware and software signal consistency.
